Overview

Caitlin is an experienced property and commercial lawyer.

Caitlin completed her tertiary studies at La Trobe University transferring in 2009 to the University of Queensland where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (Honours). She completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at The College of Law, Brisbane and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a solicitor in 2013.

Caitlin practiced law in Brisbane and Western Queensland before returning to Victoria in July 2015 with her husband, relocating to a fifth-generation family farming enterprise.

Since that time Caitlin has built a client base handling both commercial and private clients. 

As a general practitioner working out of the firm’s Sale and Traralgon offices, Caitlin advises in relation to commercial matters, property, wills and probate and oversees the firm’s large conveyancing department.

Areas of expertise

Property Law

Caitlin’s knowledge of property law and online service delivery including PEXA enables her to competently oversee the firm’s conveyancing operations and its conveyancers.  The firm handles work broadly across the state.

Commercial and Business Law

Caitlin’s commercial and business service offerings include acting on the sale and purchase of companies, shares and businesses, commercial leasing arrangements, drawing up contracts for shareholder, joint venture and supply agreements, and advising on related aspects of trust law.

Caitlin has been engaged on numerous loan transactions for either the lender or the borrower. Often those transactions included the giving or taking of security, such as a mortgage over land, a lease of business equipment or a charge over a company.

Wills, Probate and Deceased Estate

A Commercial and Property law background allows Caitlin to understand broad estate planning issues to assist clients and their particular situations.  This can extend to the use of testamentary trusts, nominations and super equalisation without over complicating matters for the firm’s clients.  A natural ability to deal amicably with clients and their accountants and planners assists to make the process smooth and efficient.

Probate work is aptly handled through the firm’s busy probate department of which Caitlin is also key participant.
